Re: Arkansas Discussion Thread
The loading animation is very video game type, obviously, so it doesn't bother me, it's really what I expected.
What surprises me is the size of the logging yard, they really took the prefabricated ones to another level with the different loading and unloading sites. (Yes, I know it was shown in the gameplay, but I didn't pay attention to that detail.)

Well, that's what custom depots are all about, making each one very unique.

I made a HQ map of Arkansas using A.P. 101 Gaming's video:

Re: Arkansas Discussion Thread
It's definitely not ideal. Nebraska had a low number of companies but they said it was a tradeoff for more unique depots. I thought that was a fair tradeoff. But my hopes were that going forward they could do both unique depots and more companies, and they just needed to use Nebraska to catch up on depots.
Arkansas has Dr Hammer which can be used everywhere, Little Rock airport which is obviously a one-off, and Apex Steel which can be repurposed to a degree.
Arkansas is small plus it's understandable that it would use a lot of the company roster from Texas, so 6 total companies would have been sufficient I think. Oklahoma brought 8, 7 of which were reusable which was solid.
This would have been a nice roster for Arkansas:
- Dr Hammer
- Pulaski County Airport
- Apex Steel
- a company to represent whatever depot is at Arkansas Nuclear One
- a farm company to represent that (hopefully) rice farm
- a mining company because NAMIQ is getting old and doesn't belong in Arkansas IMO. Should be Coastline for west, NAMIQ for Mountain West, and a new company for the central US
The lack of a new mining company is probably the biggest letdown for me because it seemed like that was an industry they were on track to regionalize. Now it looks like they more or less gave up on that.

I'm surprised, I was expecting Shop Town at least to make an appearance. That one's been floating around in the game files for a while.
I think trucks are cool.

Shop Town finally making an appearance in Arkansas of all states would have been hilarious.

The big deal in these small states is definitely the unique deposits.

Re: Arkansas Discussion Thread
I notice something and found a bug
The US HWY Route is incorrect
In Prescott off of I-30 exit 44
It says US 167/SR 24 Prescott
US 167 is farther up north by Little Rock
The correct US HWY Route should says
US 371/SR 24 Prescott
Hope scs can fix this or be on the next update
After the release of Arkansas

Re: Arkansas Discussion Thread
The other thing I wish they would have done is put more of an emphasis on Wallbert. Unless I'm missing one, I only count 3.
Just to reiterate: it's fine and even desirable to have lots of Wallberts. But a) there should be competition in the supermarket and large grocery store space which is why the wait for Shop Town has been frustrating, and b) they need to fit where actual Walmarts or at least their competitors are IRL. Arkansas should have had far more Wallberts, each placed in reasonable locations. I'm not really sure which business that Harrison one is supposed to represent, so they might only be 2/3 good placements in Arkansas, the home of Walmart.
Maybe they're just trying to build up plausible deniability in case Walmart lawyers ever come knocking on their door (it's not infringement on Walmart, see Arkansas barely has any!), but it would have been nice to get that important part of the state's economy represented accurately. Plus a better way to create plausible deniability would be to rebrand the company. Not saying they should do that, just saying it'd be preferable to not representing it properly.
