Adaptive cruise control issues ETS2/ATS 1.47/1.48

#1 Post by noobzter3 » 03 Aug 2023 13:14

First off, let me know how i can improve these post to make it easier for devs to resolve issues.

Whenever I use ACC and it uses the service brake to slow down, it has a tendency to dump all the tanks of all its air.
I also thing ACC uses way too much brake when someone merges in front of you. I think it should let of the gas and build the gap rather than slamming on brakes, much more like real ACC systems. I will likely make a post on how I think it should be improved.

Clips: ( Might be broken, because Medal is quite unreliable. Let me know, and I'll upload to youtube. )

This happens on both games on both 1.47 and 1.48

Please follow the bug reporting process.

Game logs are important.

@Madkine Thanks for your reply.
I am slightly confused as to how that would help in this case? I also don't know if I can just post the entire file in here, or if I need to find the exact point in the log when this happened?
I will edit my original post as necessary.

It helps in all cases as the log shows a number of things such as game version, your hardware stats and various other information points.
You can add the file as an attachment or use a site like pastebin.com to share the file.

That means the file is too large. Try using pastebin and split into multiple pastes if needed.

I would like to add that I've been able to reproduce the air dumping issue quite easily. Just put the truck on adaptive cruise control and drive with the CC on. Then when you get overtaken move lanes so you will be close behind the vehicle that overtook you. The game will make the truck brake so hard that in my case the air pressure actually went negative for a second (at least that is what my telemetry tool 'sim dashboard' told me). I have never seen that happen before. Even if I slam on the brakes myself as hard as I can the air pressure doesn't drop that extremely. If I had to make a guess it seems like the ACC can apply the service brakes beyond the maximum you can do by foot.

Note:
I have the distance of the ACC set to 30m
I have emergency braking set to disabled!

I have a game log of this on another computer. There's nothing in it related to the issue, but I'll add it for reference as requested when I get the chance.

Kind regards,
Aron
