Also, quick question, i see you complaining about "junk", but what exactly do you expect a retail store/supermarket to produce? The only thing they can offer is "junk" as you call it...
A lil' more variety, please?

Re: A lil' more variety, please?
No, I'm expecting some of the 97 types of cargo generated in this particular city that can be carried by my trailer to appear.
Onions. Radiators. Sugar. Chocolate. Electronics. Fireworks. Beans. Pears. Dog food. Steel cables. Clothes. Olives. Tires. Toys. Jars. Medical equipment. I could go on. Anything that's listed as exports on the logistics map.
I don't care for that supermarket. There's three more companies that produce cargo there.
(if you look closely I even chose box trailer filter)
unless of course the logistics map is completely bugged and what it shows can never actually appear. Or it has no relation to WOTR which is also possible.

Well, my WOTR jobs are 50% volvo equipment (DLC), 40% junk/cardboard/pallets and the remaining 10% a bit of everything. (using external market, as I don't drive with my own trailer)
I want to think all types of cargo were added to the pool but the ratios are in need of a big re-do.

Curious if a bit of education here could help. Scarcity is a real thing when you are a solo driver vs dedicated in real life. Does anyone have a "the point of WOT" breakdown. Sometimes false expectations are disappointments under construction and it could just simply be by design to make it scarcer? Dunno, just curious if anyone has "official" documentation/information on why it is designed the way it is now (the way you explained above).JoeAlex23 wrote: 06 Dec 2024 23:34 You also have to remember that the WoT cargo pool is shared between all players, there are A LOT of people doing the Cruising Greece event right now.
Also, the External Market and Cargo Market loads are shared between each other, meaning if you see a cargo for the External Market, you can use your own trailer (if available for said cargo type) on the Cargo Market to take that same exact cargo, they aren't separated.

Re: A lil' more variety, please?
The logistics map, whilst its interface is a little on the arcane side, does seem to tie up with the spreadsheets that I generate from the definition files in /def/ so I don't believe it is particularly bugged and it also seems to tie up with what I see in the job_offer (Freight Market/Quick Jobs) data across thousands of save files.Aziz wrote: 11 Dec 2024 22:02unless of course the logistics map is completely bugged and what it shows can never actually appear. Looking at my most recent reports based on that data I see a total of 8,093,920 unique jobs across 1,687 in game days (going all of the way back to v1.22) of which 4.87% were Empty Pallets, 3.75% Used Packaging and 4.5% Used Plastics. Very few other cargoes reach even 1% with the obvious exception of Forklifts (1.93) which are also offered and accepted by a large spread of companies. So if we presume that the job_offers are fundamentally random within the constraint of the number of possible jobs from each yard (which I believe is based on the associated prefab layout and changes only rarely) then this is simply a combinatorial problem. Sadly I cannot collect and collate similar details for either the Cargo Market (where the job details are hidden behind a list of seeds) or the External jobs (where the data is not stored in the saves).
I suspect that if you used a lowbed/lowloader rather than a box truck you might see more cargo, because WoT jobs do seem to obsess on the licensed heavy machinery loads, but I've never really investigated how things work for the External Market other than a quick dig into whether they seemed to be a subset of the External Contracts jobs (which they did at the time, but I've not revisited this in the past dozen game versions).
FWIW I wholeheartedly share your desire to see more variety in the job lists, both online and offline, but I think that that requires a complete rewrite of the job creation system(s) involved.
Cheers, Steve

Re: A lil' more variety, please?
One question, since you've come to the conclusion that this part of the game need to rework the system that generates this, would you agree that the easiest way would be for SCS to create a Jobs Generator, or some prettier name like Dispatcher, Job Dispatcher or something like that? Do you also believe that it would be possible to develop a tool for this dispatcher to work with World of Trucks jobs? Would our own trailer also be on the list?Steve Pitts wrote: 16 Dec 2024 20:50 but I think that that requires a complete rewrite of the job creation system(s) involved.
In my view, a Job Dispatcher (WoTr and non-WoTr) would be the solution to all these problems involving own trailers or jobs that are difficult to come by even without using own trailers.
Another issue that could easily be solved is completing steam achievements by only doing WoTr jobs if there was a Jobs Generator that catered for WoTr as well.
The only thing I can't understand is how SCS hasn't thought of this to give shape to the World of Trucks, implementing VTCs with simulated virtual dispatchers, given that trucksbook and other track apps have tools to create jobs...

With owned trailer (logging) I usually drive to the delivering company rather than rely on cargo automation
Which also mean I jump to nearby service center or by a garage and use it as a stepping stone
I rarely miss it
Steam achievements are done while beta testing

Good news then because the Event Details now has a checklist of all the cities. I also would get creative on keeping track. SCS finally took any guesswork out of itm1keY wrote: 06 Nov 2023 21:24 well, quick trips to a city you haven't been from or to..and take a delivery to a city you haven't been to....
undiscovered cities will not appear..or atleast very rarely in the offers so when doing a trip travel through some of the non-visited ones
and for easy checkup...look at your log on WOTC page...
or do as meI used the releaseimages and ticked them one by one...
@Aziz I have to agree this event is kinda frustrating with the delivery options and the islands make it worse. I've tried running out of Turkey and Macedonia with very little success. I think this is the first time the Community Goal was met before I finished my Personals(currently at 9/15 but hitting a wall trying to get legit loads to the rest of them...
