Scania XT Pack 2.3 (2025-11-28)

#1 Post by Winchester1979 » 29 Dec 2023 15:52

Scania XT Pack 2.3 for SCS and Eugene's Scania NG

[ external image ]

This is a complete rework of TheNuvolari's 1.0/1.1 Scania XT pack, with permission from the author (who in turn got permission from Blade1974 for some of the stuff inside it).

Instructions:

There are several optional accessories for the bumper, and for technical reasons they're added using the miscellaneous accessories dots. Each one has a specific set of intended accessories, as the items won't look right if they're added to the wrong dot.

[ external image ]

Bottom accessory dot is for the Additional doorsteps, there are two options (long and short)

[ external image ]

Topmost accessory dot is for the Headlight grills, there are two options (Paint and black)

[ external image ]

Frontmost accessory dot is for the folding step. There's only one option for this.

[ external image ]

And the remaining dot is for the custom license plate. Leave this off to allow the autogen license plates. NOTE: Kast's chassis has messed with the master locator for license plates and autogen plates do not work, I can't fix that and Kast apparently doesn't want to.

What's new in 2.3:

- Interim Update for 1.57 and Eugene's PGRS 2.7, to be replaced soonish.
- Some of the ribs currently lack the locators for the badges. An alternate way of doing the badges is under consideration.
- To install the XT parts, choose your front mask, grille and rib options first, then apply the XT Front bumper. If you change which parts you're using you need to re-apply the bumper again to get rid of the excess front grille parts.

What's new in 2.2.3:

- Fixed missing texture on gray lower front mask

What's new in 2.2.2:

- Fixed missing texture on "Standard" front grille ribs

What's new in 2.2.1:

- Fixed missing or weird engine badges. Changed prices of badges to create rudimentary sorting.
- Fixed some glitches in included paint jobs due to no longer using XT-specific front masks and ribs. Not entirely fixed, don't use painted ribs with the included paint jobs.

What's new in 2.2:

- Engine badges for all engines except the S ### scheme have been made or re-made. I kept the old S 650 and S730 badges, but everything else has been redone. Thank you to Galimim for allowing me to use some of his work for that.
- A new bull bar, the "Goliath XT", has been added, in four color options. It's basically the stock Goliath reshaped to look more like the Trux OFFROAD B24-6, with some additional accessory slots to allow different ways to mount your lights. LED bar friendly locators have been added as well.

What's new in 2.1:
- Restored the mistakenly deleted F. Kelleher Scania R skin definitions.
- Fixed some issues with the "XT Paint" bumper (wrong UVs). The template provided will now work properly.
- Removed extraneous definition files. No more "XT" front masks, grilles and front mask ribs, they're not required.
- Model files for all variants of front mask ribs overwritten with ones compatible with the XT badges. This includes some versions available in Eugene's mod.
- One set of matte black XT-specific ribs remain for compatibility reasons, in case you don't use Eugene's mod. It's only available if a version of the XT bumper is selected.
- Gloss black lower front mask for the XT bumper added.
- Removed definition files pointing to Mighty Griffin-specific parts (Plastic Gray bumpers). After switching from the XT bumper to any of the Plastic Gray bumpers, there may be gaps where the front mask/ribs/grilles should be - reapply your desired front mask/ribs/grilles to get rid of the gaps.
- If you select a new upper front mask, grille, or front mask rib color while the XT bumper is equipped, there will be a gap. Reapply the lower front mask and grille; it will only show you XT-specific options. Doing either will remove the extra rib in the lower grille.
- As no definitions are included for the upper front masks, ribs, or grilles, what options you have available depends on whether you have Mighty Griffin (no paint mask without it) or Eugene's Scania PGRS (no P, G, gloss black mask or dark gray ribs without this). Both are recommended but not required.
- Foglights don't work. I didn't specifically disable them, but as foglights are straight up illegal to drive with in combination with any other lights and SCS does not have a fog light toggle, I'm not going to put any effort into making them work again. Sorry folks, they're for decoration, just like the ones on the SCS trucks.

New for 2.0:

- Separated the original unitary bumpers into bumper, front mask and grill inlays
- Four bumpers (painted and duty, with and without foglights)
- Three front masks (painted, matt black and dark gray)
- Two grille inlays (painted and black)
- Defaults and overrides to make all the parts switch when you select a bumper (defaults to black with gloss ribs on normal bumpers; black with black ribs on XT)
- Load before Eugene's "No Gray Parts" addon, as it has definitions for the gray bumpers to make it compatible with the SCS trucks
- Included Kelsa MinibarXL has additional locators to allow LAZER ST8 extra lights (no lights included)

New for 1.1:
- Completely new bumper model, much more detailed + (painted version, with or without foglight covers)
- Reworked XT badge
- Foglights now only turn on if the lights are high-beam
- Small accessories to customize the bumper as much as possible (folding step, doorsteps, optional license plate)
- Headlight grills separated (plastic and paint)
- Added support for Scania P and G by Eugene
- Added additional bumper (plastic and paint)
- Added painted mirrors
- Added F. Kelleher skin for Scania R
- Added Kelsa MinibarXL
- Added optional V8 badge
- Added several new badges, including painted ones
- Fixed XT skin not showing up with factory colors.

Thanks!

I've already made a few small fixes, waiting for feedback to see if there's more that's needed before uploading anything - namely, I've re-added the F. Kelleher paintjob and fixed the UV map on the XT Paint bumper so that the skin applies correctly. I'll give it a couple more days.

I already know that some of the overrides aren't uniform, choosing some front masks on some trucks will swap both the top and bottom; and on some others it won't, because I was careless and didn't copy everything. Please let me know about anything like that that you encounter, and I'll get it fixed.

Also, the regular grille ribs and front masks are pickable when there's an XT bumper on the truck; I didn't want to duplicate the *entire mess* of .sii files for Eugene's front masks, grille ribs and intakes - just giving the *36* stock bumper files and the *24* additional P and G bumpers some defaults so they wouldn't look totally broken if you swapped back to them from the XT bumpers was enough work on that front for me. If I start messing with the rest of it I'm going to have to require the PGRS mod, which I've dodged so far.

Currently playing with the idea of making it compatible with Azorax's Scania ST-cab. I am probably not going to bother, as the truck is a mess of errors, and it's narrower in the front than the SCS/Eugene R/S so the bumper sticks out *just* a tad on either side of the headlights. Yuck!

Fantastic to see this return with improvements!

I haven't got this in game yet - have the XT mirrors being reversed (where left shows the right side, and vice versa) been addressed from the original? :D

I'll get Eugene's PGRS and see what i can find thru out the time. From myhead I'm sure there was problem with texture mapping on painted parts where skins aplied to them, obviously being deformed and wrong.

I'll edit this post with my finds to not cluter it here.

1.Bullbars are selectable with out problem despite clearly coliding with the XT bumpers, with obvious exception of Kelsa bar. (Looks interesting thou!)

TheNuvolari made entirely new ones that work just fine for his 1.1 version; both the standard and UK versions show the proper image. The only slight issue with them is that they're perfectly symmetrical, rather than the passenger side mirror being angled a little more back like in real life and on the SCS mirrors. Also, the interior model is basically just the standard plastic or paint mirrors, but the rib detail is on the outside of the mirror anyway.

Bumper and front mask have their own TOBJ and template that need to be used to paint them properly. The currently released version has an incorrect "XT Paint" bumper (the one with foglights) because I screwed up; I've fixed it and re-added the F. Kelleher skin in my personal copy and will upload it when I've gotten enough feedback so I'm sure what else I need to fix.

simple_paint_job_data : .ovr4
{
paint_job_mask: "/vehicle/truck/upgrade/paintjob/fkelleher/scania_r_2016/accessories/xt.tobj"
acc_list[]: "f_bumper.xt_p"
acc_list[]: "f_bumper.xt_covers_p"
acc_list[]: "b_grill.add_bumper_p"
acc_list[]: "f_intake_chs.stock_xt_p"
acc_list[]: "f_inlay_chs.xt_stock_p"
}

I *think* the .dds needs to be in vehicle/truck/paintjob/*paintjobname*/scania_X_2016/accessories/xt.dds (all of those files are there in the current released version)

I am *NOT* a skin guy, and I'm not really a Blender guy either; normally I just do definition stuff to make stuff fit the trucks I use; and maybe the odd extra accessory locator on light bars to make it fit the lights I like; this has just been a bit of a project on my backburner for a couple of years that I finally managed to finish up.

Thank you to whoever it was who uploaded this to Modhub and Ets2world, much appreciated that you're taking some of the load off or my google drive account, and that you're providing me with an interest gauge.

Just... keep in mind that it's not the final release version of the pack that you've gotten; I'm still working on bugfixes and stuff.

(Don't bother reporting them, I wasn't planning on making money off of it and keeping it off the mod sites is nigh impossible anyway.)
