SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

Re: Scania XT Pack 2.2.1 (2024-01-07)
Does this mod need to have higher priority than Kast's mods? I added an XT bumper, but I didn't have any headlight guards as the ones in the photo on the 1st page of the thread.

The headlight covers are one of the miscellaneous accessories that you can add. Because there was no way for the bumper to add "major" locators, there's a several regular accessory locators and you have to look in your list of stuff for the XT symbol to find the ones that go with which one.Ciobby wrote: 27 May 2024 06:12 Does this mod need to have higher priority than Kast's mods? Hopefully it's easy enough to see which locators I'm using for which bit, but with if you have loads of accessory mods the XT stuff may end up further down on your list.
Note that without editing the truck model itself, this was the only way to add these as individual options.
It is *generally* a good idea to put this mod after (above) Kast's stuff.

I've added the pictures and some text instructions to the first post. Hopefully this will cut down on future confusion.
Oh, and a note about Kast's mod: normal license plates won't work with his mod due to him not having updated the license plate locator's hookup code, and since he only uses custom license plates himself, this is probably not getting fixed any time soon. This is not an issue with the bumpers, it's a chassis issue.

Plastic tank? Not sure what you mean, because I've never seen any plastic tanks for the Scania NG at all

Is it enough if I create my own .dds file and place it accordingly in "Rigid_Addon_Base_mod_by_Kast.scs\vehicle\truck\kast_rigid_addon\paintjob\"? Thanks!Winchester1979 wrote: 27 May 2024 14:34 I've added the pictures and some text instructions to the first post. Hopefully this will cut down on future confusion.

L.E: I've done it for the default rigid paintjob, now I have to figure out how to apply it to one of Eugene's paintjobs...

Re: Scania XT Pack 2.2.1 (2024-01-07)
I have absolutely no idea as I don't know how to work skins at all. The cab and box should skin just like normal for Kast's mod; the bumper has its own UV and texture file (have a look at the F.Kelleher paintjob included in the mod). I can't help further as I never managed to wrap my head around how to load things into mod studio for skinning.Ciobby wrote: 27 May 2024 18:16 Is it enough if I create my own .dds file and place it accordingly in "Rigid_Addon_Base_mod_by_Kast.scs\vehicle\truck\kast_rigid_addon\paintjob\"? That's really no problem, and I appreciate your help and answers. I've addressed my question in Kast's thread, maybe someone has some additional info on how to add the plate accessory to Eugene's paints (as I think no .xml has to be involved, only defs edited accordingly).

Re: Scania XT Pack 2.2.1 (2024-01-07)
So, a small update on my WIP projects:
I have, after trials and tribulations, managed to finally make the 80 mm raised version of the chassis as well as the 130 mm version. I have also gone through and remade an absolute pile of definitions, which should allow for the following chassis list:
80 mm raised chassis:
4x2 High
4x2 High V8
6x2 High Taglift
6x2 High Taglift V8
6x4 High
6x4 High V8
6x4 High XL
6x4 High XL V8
130 mm raised chassis:
4x4 High
4x4 High V8 (Scania S only)
4x4+2 High Taglift
4x2+2 High Taglift V8 (Scania S only)
6x6 High
6x6 High V8 (Scania S only)
8x6 High V8 (Scania S only)
The "6x4 XL" chassis is something Eugene worked into the base mod, it's a 6x4 with the wheelbase to use the 4x2 sideskirts. Note that none of these chassis have actually changed suspension components, as I haven't got the references to make appropriate leaf spring suspensions.
Note on terminology as well, the "4x4+2 High Taglift" is effectively the 6x2 taglift but with a driven front axle.
Progress so far is that I've gotten all of them into the game for the Scania S, and they work after a fashion - the only thing left to do is sort out the sideskirts, which is a total pain due to the sheer amount of them there are at this point. Dammit, Eugene...
I will still need to make all of the definitions for the Scania R, G, and P, but that shouldn't be a *huge* problem.
Of note, however, is that while advanced trailer coupling does work, the chassis are all basically too tall to use it on all of the current trailers, which is a bit painful. I will need to figure out how to make trailers specifically suited for these things at some point. Note that I believe basically only logging trailers and heavy cargo trailers would be used with these IRL, so I may restrict myself to making those. Not at this point sure if I'll even bother, as you can auto-connect any trailer at the garage.
In theory, I should be able to very quickly make a version that works with the current PGRS mod, as most of the definitions aren't changed. Not sure if that's of interest - it would be missing the 8x6 and the 6x4 XL versions because of limitations in the current version of the PGRS mod. Does anyone want to see that though?
