Lord of the Rings Online (or Lotro in short) is not just your regular mmorpg like World of Warcraft.
It is much more than that.
It's not about racing to caplevel to play endgame (you can though), but it's more about the journey getting there.
The storyline is considered one of the best in any game, and yeah, you 've all seen the movies, and/or read the books, you all know the story.
Basicly, you're helping The Fellowship in the background, by doing quests, and levelling up, while exploring the world.
And the world is huuuge ! Probably one of the bigger gamemaps, at least for mmo's.
But there is so much more to do in-game.
You don't have to keep doing quests, level up, and min/max your gear if you don't want to.
You don't have to do groupcontent, if you don't want to. Just play as you like.
It is a lot of fun though, doing 3-6 man dungeons, or even 12 man raids.
But if that is not your thing, just play solo, and go out, and visit all the well-known landmarks of J.R.R Tolkiens Middle-Earth, and meet all your favorite characters from the movies.
You can just stay a lowlevel and hang out in The Shire or anywhere else, this game is perfect for RolePlaying (the RP in mmoRPg).
Just sit down , relax at your own house, smoke a pipe, play some music with friends, or craft nice stuff which you can sell, or enjoy festivals.
Right now, as we speak, there's this Anniversary Festival, the game celebrates 18 years of existence !
And even though it is quite old, it still looks relatively good.

And it's FREE TO PLAY !
