Improved Automatic Transmission

Game changer!! Thank you! One of my greatest frustrations with the sim has always been gear box behaviour, but after more than 2k hours of play I now have a much more convincingly realistic kickdown in situations like uphill under load, or accelerating after approaching a red traffic light which changes to green with a clear road ahead. Love it!

Is it my imagination, or does the mod also improve 'free wheeling' under zero throttle with no braking? My usual habit when approaching a town speed limit is simply to knock the cruise control off and speed drops quite quickly, but the momentum seems to carry further with the mod enabled, though I've only been using the mod about an hour lol, and so far with only one truck, an un-modded DAF 105...

I think that is because this uses lower RPMs, lower RPMs means less natural engine braking. So you roll through a village at 1100rpm instead of slowing down at 1500rpm.
Interestingly the Paccar engine in Europe does this but not the US version where it still maintains high RPMs.

No problem I agree it is important modification as vanilla logic always bothered me.
