A game AI lane changing problem
Hello scs, first of all, I am using Google Translate to have a conversation. When I was playing American Truck Sim, I found that there was a problem with the AI vehicles in the game. When driving on the highway, the AI vehicles on the ramp that were going to merge into the highway would change lanes regardless of whether there was a car or not. , if the player does not avoid it, he will directly hit the vehicle, and also hit other AIs, causing the rear vehicle to suddenly brake and cause a car accident. My game version is 1.50. This problem has existed for a long time. I hope the developers can solve it in the future. Improve players’ gaming experience

Re: A game AI lane changing problem
I would have to say this is more of a general AI failure to obey right of way in many regards. I just lump it up to real world idiots and figured this was intended. Even the escort vehicles used in special transports don't follow their own lane change procedures (order of follower, leader, player) but this is a whole other bug entirely which I will be reporting on in more depth when I gather more evidence.

I'll add to this. Special Transport should be a special case.
Special Transport Contracts (STC) involve two escorts, one in front and one in the rear. Merging traffic is expected to yield to normal traffic but in these STCs the player is expected to remain in the same lane as the lead and follow lane change procedures (which doesn't work right anyway). The merging traffic should most certainly slow down and allow the convoy to pass. The result in this case was the merging truck getting tossed on its side and the rear escort being stuck behind it, failing the mission.

This example was the STC of a Large Reservoir Tank from Denver CO to Grand Junction CO and occurred on West bound I-70 about 20 miles before the junction to US 40 (four miles past the sign indicating the junction was 24 miles ahead).
