This is the trend that's making me the most nervous. Free over-the-air games are a huge reason why the NFL is so popular and why the other big sports have no chance of ever catching up. When the games are so abundantly available they just become part of the culture of Sunday afternoons, and if they ever pivot fully to pay-to-watch then I think it'd be the beginning of the end of NFL dominance.

I guess right now the Netflix games are the only truly paywalled national games, right? Since Thursday night games are technically free on Twitch, which is better than we used to have it when NFL Network did TNF. Regardless, I really hope they stop here, but I'm guessing the greed will get the better of them unfortunately.

WWE/TKO has been doing this trend too as of late. TKO managed to get a major "PPV" rights deal with Paramount Plus for UFC and the premium events will now be streamed there instead of the traditional PPV paywall that was active for so long. WWE on the other hand seems to be going right back to it in a different way, with a $30/month ESPN subscription service for it's main roster PLEs, but one also have to pay to watch other programs like RAW on Netflix, Smackdown on Cable (USA Network), Peacock (for NXT PLEs), and so much more paywall stuff.

It's baffling for hardcore wrestling fans, but it's not all too surprising in this corporate era of watching sports. I remember having the WWE Network subscription and paying $9.99 for it, I didn't know how good I and many others had it with all the programs it had and access to everything including the premium events. I'm not all too caring though as I've been watching Pro Wrestling less and less over the years, and many others have too. Sure, record profits and attendances are being posted, but domestic viewership numbers tell a different story, and RAW on Netflix isn't setting viewership worldwide "on fire" either..

My boys almost pulled it off. How much is Jerry paying CeeDee to drop balls, smh. I am almost 50. Heck I could have caught 2 of those 3 dropped balls. At least it wasn't a blow out and my Boys covered the spread at least. We might actually be able to stop the run better this year. Held Barkley to like 60 yards. Hurts had more though.
