Yep. Thursday is the start of the new week. So gotta pay attention come Wednesday. Remember US football is based on US time so if you are 7+ hrs ahead of the US, its night time when the game starts. The Thursday night games are 6:15 Eastern US time (7:15 US Central), 9:15 US Pacific.

Re: NFL (American) Football Pick-Em Thread 2025
I feel the pain for all of you who picked Pittsburgh this past week. Right now I don't know if the Steelers could beat a decent high school varsity team at the moment. No defense whatsoever. The defensive coordinator blames all the injuries, but we're two weeks into the season, not 12 weeks in. It sounds like a cop-out to me.
Seattle had their way with the Steelers on the ground all day, tons of first downs with no problem. It's like no one watched any game film from Seattle last week.
Can't put all the blame on Aaron Rodgers btw. Seattle's secondary was beat up, and he still couldn't take advantage of it -that falls onto bad coaching. D.K. Metcalf is gonna get double-coverage in every game, and the Steelers simply don't have a good number 2 wideout, and therefore have no game plan for an air game. Hell, the kicker has more points than the Steeler receiving corps after two games -not a good sign for our running game, tight ends or wide receivers.
I still maintain that Rodgers won't be around much longer if the o-line keeps bungling his protection. It's hard to win games when your QB is looking up from the ground, or if he can't be a threat to go downfield because your tight end drops a beautiful long pass on a free play.
The coaching is terrible, starting at the top. There's no way in hell that the rookie makes that mistake of touching that ball going into the end zone, and no Steeler is around to dive on top of it. Three Seattle special teamers got all over it for a TD and our special teamers stood there ten yards away and watched. Again, bad coaching during practice causes that crap. That's why there's team meetings with these coaches during the week, as to stop that stuff from happening in the first place -rookie mistake my arse...
The Steelers won't ever do nothing with Tomlin. Forget about a Super Bowl, they'll never even make the playoffs with this guy. He has to go, the experiment is over. He can also take the GM and the Steelers' coaching staff with him. It just might be time for that rebuild after all.
I wonder if the Steelers winning last week wasn't a fluke after all. It sure looks like it.

Re: NFL (American) Football Pick-Em Thread 2025
Yeah that kickoff touchdown was really bizarre, kind of crazy how many NFL players seemingly haven't internalized basic rules like that.
They still look better than the Vikings at least, who have had 1 good quarter and 7 absolutely miserable ones, on offense anyways. Defense was pretty solid once they stopped letting Bijan waltz down the field. Kind of hard to have a good quarter with the horrendous state of our offensive line, but a rookie QB going through rookie growing pains certainly isn't helping the situation. I think things will get better once Darrisaw returns, but either way KOC is gonna have to figure out a way to channel 4thQ Week 1 JJ into a full game performance, or at least a good second half since we had a lot of bad first halves the past few years and still found ways to win.
The Dublin game may be fun for the defensive linemen on both sides

Here's Week 2's results:

And the standings after Week 2:
[ external image ]
Brendan had the best week partly due to his singular faith in the Falcons (similar to Xaagon's singular faith in the Colts in Week 1), but the rest of us weren't too far behind. The Seahawks @ Steelers game is the only one all of us got wrong so far
