Has anyone noticed in chapter 3 for the driving academy

Show the dolley that they are using is for the flatbed and did curtains we have those in real

I do see the normal dolly here in the us are used for dry vans reefer and insulated trailer

Those I would recommend too used in the driving academy

here is some of the type of dolly that are used in usa and it will explained it

In the USA, the primary type of dolly used to connect semi-trailers is the converter dolly (or A-dolly/C-dolly), which converts a semi-trailer into a full trailer for tandem or triple operations. These are equipped with one or two axles, a fifth wheel, and a drawbar. Other types include specialized low-loader/jeep dollies for heavy hauling and motorized electric dollies for yard maneuvering.
Key Types of Dollies in Semi-Trailer Applications:
Converter Dolly (A-Dolly): The most common type for pulling doubles or triples. It features a single tongue/drawbar that attaches to the rear of the lead trailer.
Tandem Axle Converter Dolly: Equipped with two axles for heavier loads and better stability in multi-trailer configurations.
C-Dolly: Features two separate hitches (side-by-side) for improved stability and reduced sway compared to a single-drawbar A-dolly.
Low Loader/Jeep Dolly: Used with heavy-haul trailers (like lowboys) to distribute weight between the tractor and the trailer, usually featuring a gooseneck attachment.
Electric/Motorized Trailer Dolly: Used in terminals and maintenance yards to move heavy, unhitched trailers (up to 50,000 lbs) without a tractor.
These units allow for increased freight capacity by enabling a single tractor to haul multiple trailers, commonly seen in, for example, this YouTube video showing a tandem axle converter dolly.

Feel like SCS could of did some foward maneuvering with Doubles, Triples, RM doubles and TP doubles. But backing with those would be a downright nightmare for even the most experienced driver.

(There is a reason I can do anything is greyed out by default)

Too me I think they will be another fourth chapter and final exam

It be getting ur how too handle hazmat cargo

They are many type of hazmat that u be taking as a load

In the driver school this should be part of it like the real thing

Know how to get around and parking will be different along with the hazmat load also

I really got only got the update/beta for the driving academy, so why is it crashing after truck selection? [resolved]

Ideally, and in my thinking, since driving academy doesnt use mods, there should be no issues right?


I've seen some advice about the advisor mods, but the only ones I have are for the proper game anyway. I dont understand the logic behind the choice to globally tie advisor game wide when one game mode doesnt even have the room to use mods.

Furthermore, as some have already stated in the beta thread itself, the advisor elements need to be able to be repositioned [or have the option] to the top of the screen where nearly no interference in cabin viewing is. This is the main reason I've used advisor repositioning mods, because there is no known way to reposition the advisor elements in the options.

So if you have tied the advisor elements to be global, then please make sure that we have the ability to adjust those ui features between top and bottom of the screen. I did see the post regarding the ui element adjustment in the beta thread, but my issue was [since resolved by self] crashing after truck selection [which... idk why you would tie performance of the academy to mods anyway when the mode cant use them].

Also, you should perhaps add a note in game about mods loading up despite it being Driving Academy [just a thought].

@Izmaragon The driving academy uses all mods that you have active on the profile and they can causes crashes. And it doesn't just load them, mods are active in the academy.

If experiencing crashes, make a post in the help forums and include game and crash logs.

Yeah, gotten past that little issue...

...and have gotten clear to the final exam of the 3rd part.

I have found some interesting issues though, like bugs likely related to another mod I've used [different profile].

While scs may have avoided giving many modders headaches this time, others will need to adjust things.

As far as the mode goes, I was able to do chapter 3 without doing the previous chapters on a newer profile than the profile I had previously completed the other chapters on.

I played a bit today to the book 3 and I've already got Frankie (By the way Pets DLC when?, i want a dog with animations ).

I like that you don't need to get 18/18 and completing only the 2 first chapters you can get the dog (I only did 14/18), so everybody can get it easily.
The first to chapters are very aproachable and didactic the examples teach you well and the game don't rush you and gives you plenty space to manouver, Chapter 3 is more a test for what you learned in the previous 2, i only did the first one on this chapter and i think is well balanced, not too easy not too dificult.

I encounter this module more in line with the first one, really teaching you how to manouver your doubles, and is a great first aproach for everyone not familiar with that type of trailers.
I like the fact that they choose flatbeds for this module, because they allow you to see better from the inside view, so you can see the space, the movement of the trailers and where you are going, box trailers will block part of your view.

Would be cool if you can do the module choosing between STAA doubles or Bi-Train, because STAA handle a little different to the Bi-train and at least for me STAA are harder to back up because of the dolly and a lesson on how to do it properly would be nice also, but i'm not gona complain i think this Book 3 is fine will teach you all you need and everybody could do it with a bit of time and practise.

In summary congrats to the Driving Academy team because they did a great job, is a nice module and pleasant to do.

We chose not to include 28' twins because, in reality, these are rarely actually reversed. I know there are some people out there who can do it, but 99% of the time, or even more, they are split before being backed individually where they need to go.

I worked for FedEx hauling doubles, and I was able to back them in a straight line for two, maybe 3 truck lengths, and even then, it had to be in optimal conditions (not tired, not angry, etc)

Unfortunately, there just isn't a place for them in Academy at this time.

I keep failing the training course in chapter 1 due to sometimes slight misjudgements but it isn't frustrating yet. I think I can agree on everything that Trenero has said and I appreciate that we get to change directions. I did nail the training course on ETS2 at the first attempt though. I think the double trailer sections shine another light on the handling differences between both games and their truck configurations.
