Florida DLC ideas
Florida is known as the sunshine state. Some cities are known for very famous places and the transportation industry. Miami is home to Royal Caribbean Cruise services and Carnival Cruise lines. The city is home to the YouTube program Soul Snack and it's sister shows Judge Porter, and Judge Porter's path. Orlando is home to the great big Walt Disney Theme Park. Florida does have maintenance ports for just about every kind of ship that docks there. So right there, you could sense a wide variety of trucking ideas such as delivering parts to the maintenance ports and drydocks, heavy duty solvents that the ship maintenance crews use to clean the outer keel of each ship, and other cleaners that they would need to clean the outer hull of the ship. Glass shapes are pretty cool to design. As some glass shapes could be used as glass vases, windows, etc. Now to get info from both Carnival Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean International, here are their websites on where the big trucks go when it comes to delivering the parts for each ship:
Carnival Cruise Lines:

Royal Caribbean International:

Now for Walt Disney World since that is a theme park and it is one of the biggest, if you don't feel comfortable in putting it into the game, maybe you can put in a freight transfer center just off I-4 where there would be other trucks waiting.
Now I am not sure where about in Miami Soul Snack is filmed but you can go to the City of Miami and ask them where do they make Soul Snack, and what warehouse do they use to make Judge Porter and Judge Porter's Path. I think those places should be in the game as all three shows are great sources in teaching kindness. The place for Soul Snack, one thing would be good for delivery would be the cars that are used in the show. I think they use cars built by Ford and Chrysler.
For food oriented items, there are a lot of orange trees and the bananas are either mostly grown in Florida or south America. So right there, you have an idea for picking up some sunny grown fruit from the state to deliver to other places in the country.
Due to the state of Florida being kind of small, you can add the Caribbean islands to this DLC, or make a Caribbean DLC. I visited Puerto Rico, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. John's, and Barbados. That was 2013.

Re: Florida DLC ideas
Assuming they don't mess with the scale too much, I don't see the developers that are doing Florida including all the 5 Major Ports (Jacksonville, Tampa, Port Canaveral, Fort Lauderdale, Miami), those 5 are of course very massive port cities for travel and imports/exports. Since I've been in Florida for nearly 20 years now, I've seen these ports in common and have taken cruise travel out of them.
I could see them including the Tampa and Miami ports if they plan on making the city center a thing in those cities, since both ports are very close to the city centers. Port Canaveral might be a hard add on 1:20 scale if they plan on making Daytona scenic, since Daytona and Port/Cape Canaveral are very close to each other, and I don't see them sacrificing Port St Lucie. Fort Lauderdale might also be a hard add as well considering Fort Lauderdale is apart of that Miami Metro that won't be very large at all on 1:20 scale, I'd be fine if SCS included either Port Everglades or PortMiami over both. Jacksonville's port should be a no-brainer add as it's accessible to both I-95 and I-295 Beltway.

If GTA 6 didnt delayed, and the Florida got released after this game, they should do some egg easters about it. Like what they did in Los Angeles, it will be good.

Re: Florida DLC ideas
Earlier this year in Late June, I took a trip down to Miami Beach and I was blown away by how reminiscent it was to GTA Vice City, just goes to show the detail Rockstar put into GTA VC. I recognized every building and every part of the area. Of course, a lot of luxury cars and high end stores in the area.

Yes. The entire state could see tons of deliveries of food related products for the theme parks and the ships, tons of paper deliveries, etc. large engine parts for the ships and motor parts for all of the air compressors that run the rides at Walt Disney World. I too would love to see more NASA stuff in the game.

Re: Florida DLC ideas
Now since Florida sees a ton of cruise ship activity, that would call for maintaining the docks they pull up to. And I know that there are some solvents that may be needed to make the ship dock area sparkle. So what SCS is going to have to do is to Google the main cruise ship dock offices and email them on where the freight is to be dropped off such as food for the ships, solvents for the dock, etc.
Re: Florida DLC ideas
I'd go for at least 3 of those ports. Jacksonville, Tampa and Miami. All 3 of these are quite aways from one another. Port Canaveral is more cruise like. Fort Lauderdale is interchange with Miami. We only need one between those 2. One of the 2 cities goes scenic. I don't see Miami going scenic. So if they give other industry to Miami, they could actually go with the port in Fort Lauderdale.Brendan0620 wrote: ↑03 Dec 2024 01:03 Assuming they don't mess with the scale too much, I don't see the developers that are doing Florida including all the 5 Major Ports (Jacksonville, Tampa, Port Canaveral, Fort Lauderdale, Miami), those 5 are of course very massive port cities for travel and imports/exports. Both Miami and Fort Lauderdale can get pushed out into the water just like the coast of California got. I-95 makes the game for sure. I-595 would really have to push out into the water to get both the airport and the port. I don't know how you skip this view though for Miami. https://www.google.com/maps/@25.779168, ... FQAw%3D%3D. If I got a vote, I'm doing Dodge Island for sure. Wayyyy to much wiggle room to play with if they use the Atlantic Ocean.
If the Port of Miami comes, perhaps no Miami Airport and do Fort Lauderdale airport instead. But no port in Fort Lauderdale. It should be one or the other. Which ever city gets the airport, the other gets the port. Miami and Fort Lauderdale is on such a slender part of the land, that I think an urban metroplex should be created to cover all of that region. Basically Miami up to West Palm Beach. This entire stretch should be heavy with building assets. Open space doesn't come until you are North of Palm Beach Gardens. South of Miami is the Florida Keys so no doubt we get that. If Coronado Island came with San Diego, zero chance Key West is left out. There is sooo much space to play with here. If we get at least Home Depot and Publix or Winn-Dixie in Key West, that justifies Key West 100%. I'm sure there will be some viewpoints as well to reach.
One thing about ports that should happen sooner or later, is SCS offer different types of terminals at ports. All we are getting is container ports. There are several other ports. Unless we get 2-3 piers at ports, I think ports are starting to become one in the same. We need ports that ship cars, we need ports that deal with metals/recyclable materials, ports that deal with quarries, ports that deal with wind farm equipment, heavy machinery ports. Container ports are not the only ports.
Insults to SCS now brings warnings. Beware.

I agree about the scale. There is one thing for if we were to add deliveries of ship parts to at least one port, SCS would have to give the passenger cruise line and the freight shipping lines a call on where they take their ships to be fixed. Cruise shipping companies would have to have a meeting with SCS on where the heavy equipment ports are located so that way SCS would know where the route the trucks to deliver the much needed parts for each ship that comes in to get fixed.

Re: Florida DLC ideas
I think Tampa seems to have several ship dry docks where ships are hauled in to be fixed. There is International Ship Repair & Marine Services on Penny Street in Tampa, FL. That street is accessible by 19th Street.
