Worry more about not hitting stuff, and less about the time limit

Re: Opinion about Driving Academy
Hi. You are the dev?As for checkpoints, they aren't necessary. IRL, hitting a cone on your CDL test is an instant fail, which means waiting weeks for another appointment to attempt it again. If the worst you have to do is restart, turn on the engine and release the parking brake... well, I'd say we went pretty easy on you guys
I'd like to remind you that this is a Simulator Game - the emphasis on game - so I believe checkpoints are absolutely vital. If people do indeed want the real-life experience, you could always add the option of turning the checkpoints ON/OFF. But the fact that you don't have any at all makes trying to complete the long scenarios a chore and a half. The scenarios definitely need them because one nudge of a cone is enough to send you to the start.
And before you go into "well, sorry, that's not realistic," let me remind you that there are different camera views of the truck anyway, and I myself used them to my advantage instead of checking those mirrors. I'm sure truck drivers IRL don't have that benefit. So sorry, but that reasoning was thrown out the window when you made the game.
Even more so, checkpoints can help players get better on a particularly challenging part because a player won't need to do the other parts and can focus on how they made a mistake with that situation and how to correct it.
TL;DR Please make checkpoints for the Driving Academy.
Also, I did the lessons on a keyboard. With one hand. And I'm one lesson away from beating it.

It's okay not to be good at something, it's not a valid reason to dumb down the game though.

I reserve the right to be 100% wrong.
The angels cried and crooned, they offered me their vision of ghosts in every wall
I declined and held the line and watched the angels fall.

I'm gonna shut you down right here. It's okay not to be good at something, it's not a valid reason to dumb down the game though.
It's a GAME. That is EVERY reason to dumb it down. Furthermore, only 0.6% of gamers actually passed the Driving School. That is abysmal.
A game is supposed to be fun, and yes, it may be challenging at times. But at least Dark Souls had a checkpoint at the beginning of each Boss Fight. This doesn't. If people WANT the option of turning off checkpoints, put that into the game. But for casual players, this is all but near impossible.
Oh yeah, by the way, the Professional Driving Course has 0.0% players who beat it. I don't even want to know how that is.

Its an optional part of the game and not intended to be completed by everyone.
Not all content has to be completable by all users.
This is a stupid reason to dumb down the game.

There are achievements gated behind the Driving School. If they intended to make this a totally separate application to ATS, that's one thing. But to package this in the game and then say that is kinda hypocritical. Its an optional part of the game and not intended to be completed by everyone.

I play Sim games to have fun, not learn how to drive a real truck.

Some achievements aren't meant to be gotten by everyone.
Not a good reason to dumb down content.
I was a 100% achievement person until Driving Academy.

Considering these cones are rewards that we earn, why should it be priced so high?

In comparison to other similar in-game hanging accessory items that are purchasable, yes. See these are more than 50% lower in cost
