SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

  • I was inspired to create this repaint pack during my first visit to the town of Lauf a.d. Pegnitz in Bavaria, Germany back in July 2024, pretty much immediately after seeing buses with this livery driving about the place. They were just so different to the ones I'm used to from the southwest of England.
  • In real life, they use different buses (mostly Otokar Kents and MAN Lion's Citys), but given that these don't exist for the game I tried applying the livery to the wonderful DBus World buses instead, and personally I'm really happy with the results!

[Mangonie] VGN nuernberger land Repaints for Karosa 95x Pack
  • I decided to tackle the Karosa 95x Pack first, as I liked the idea of them still operating these older buses (which isn't the case in real life).
Some of the logos I found online, but others I had to retrace from blurry, low-quality pictures.
The B951E and B951 repaints were straightforward enough as it was a citybus, but I didn't think it would do if I just adapted this citybus livery onto the more coach-like C954E and C954 buses – I figured another livery was in order for these, to make the pack more interesting.
So, I came up with the entirely fictional "Umkreiskreuzer" sub-brand (roughly translating to "local area cruiser") with special countryside-themed branding including a local medieval landmark as well as depicting yellow articulated tractors on fields – I'm aware that Kirovets tractors primarily kept further east and weren't really used in Bavaria, but I love their design so I decided to include them anyway. Also, I even managed to get these two repaints to have their own unique and separate accessory icons when selecting them in the Truck Configurator!

[Mangonie] VGN nuernberger land Repaint for Bollore Bluebus SE
  • Next was the Bolloré Bluebus SE, the electric bus. Lauf (to my knowledge) doesn't have any electric buses in the fleet currently, but I thought the more modern design of the bus would fit really well with the livery, so I thought it would be fun to do. It was! While the majority of the livery remains unchanged from the actual real-life one, I did take some creative liberties mostly on the rear, where I've put text on it about it being an electric bus, as well as designing special logos for the repaintable mirrors. Ideally I would've also liked to repaint the interior labelling (translating it from French to German), but oh well – it's not repaintable, and it doesn't really matter.

[Mangonie] VGN nuernberger land Repaint for Solaris Urbino III 12 BVG
  • The Solaris Urbino being a modern bus, used a lot in Germany and intended for city use pretty much made it a perfect fit for this livery. The only thing I had to change is the position of the large "nürnberger land" logo on the rear of the bus – on other buses it's on the nearside, but since this particular bus has a window here I had to mirror it over to the offside. Also, I ran into a slight issue while working on this repaint, which was that the window blacks initially weren't repaintable. This would've made it impossible for me to properly apply the rear logo or any of the other logos/text that really belonged on these parts. I reached out to lead developer Etrusan, and he was kind enough to actually update the bus mod to support paintable window blacks (and even light clusters)! Very happy with how this one turned out.

[Mangonie] VGN nuernberger land Fernkreiskreuzer Repaint for Iveco Evadys Line 13m
  • WIth this one, I knew I had to do something different – the regular citybus livery just wasn't gonna cut it for a proper coach bus. I had a couple of ideas, but ultimately decided to settle on the fictional "Fernkreiskreuzer" sub-brand (roughly translating to "long-distance area cruiser"), with some particular towns highlighted and depicted in red ovals, with rhymes next to them. Pommelsbrunn (depicting a pavement fountain which I had actually stood next to IRL), Dinkelsbühl (I've never bee to this town, but it looked quite scenic when I found it on maps and its name worked well for the rhyme), and Rothenburg-ob-der-Tauber (same thing) are depicted. I had initially planned to include a fourth town as well, but there just wasn't enough space so I decided on adding two figures, a girl and her mother. The girl asks "Where are going today, mummy?" and mum answers "Let's ask the Fernkreiskreuzer!", as a sort of advertisement. I tried going for a corporate artstyle with these figures (which I don't do often) as I figured that's what they'd use, but I did have some fun with it. Where there seemed to be a bit too much empty space I also added a yellow sticker translating to "See something pretty? Take a photo!". Also, the shape of this livery's green skirt that's sorta reminiscent of an ocean's waves was loosely inspired by First Hampshire & Dorset's X53 & 31 liveries from the 2000s, which I've grown up with. :D

In case any more left-hand drive DBus World buses get released in the future,
I do (currently) fully intend on making repaints for these as well! ;)

I realise these are really niche repaints and not something many will actually recognise from experiencing
them first-hand, but regardless, I hope people'll still have fun driving these around!
