Sure.
and I have a bridge in Manhattan to sell you.
Why would they just have those books just...sitting there? and they all happen to be on one subject.
I mean...come on now.

I mean, it doesn't seem like a coincide to also have a "Special Delivery" screen in the same room, so who knows besides SCS what is going on.

One thing is for sure, Everyone at SCS reading this thread is enjoying the popcorn!

Maybe they are there because SCS made two games that had Australia in it? 18 Wheels of Steel Extreme Trucker 1 and 2?

Also, is just two books, the one on the top is from 2011 (same year as 18WoS ET2) and the bottom one is from 2015 (one year older than ATS), soooooooo, make out of that whatever you wish.

I think I missed some context, I only knew about North Dakota-related paraphernalia being seen there. Anyone have a summary of other things?

As far as i know, those were the only two interesting things, the ND flag (that's not really a spoiler) and the 2 books from Australia.

There is a strange wish that I have had recently about trucks in this game. It's never gonna happen but you never know. I already know someone is going to barge in and say "oh that will never happen" - the point is, I know.

Since we get classic trucks, and as we know licenses are fickle, there is one truck that I wish was added into the game.

Gavril T-Series from BeamNG.Drive.

https://beamng.fandom.com/wiki/Gavril_T-Series

Since devs of that game have done collaboration with Automation, it's not out of realm of possibility that they would agree to cooperate with SCS to have T-Series in ATS. The truck was designed by the team and doesn't infringe on any copyrights either of real world brands. I don't think real brands would get upset if Gavril T-Series was officially added into the game if SCS and BeamNG devs collaborated officially.

One can dream though. It would be a cool thing, to me at the very least.

Nah I think the Gavril T-Series should stay in beamng. People would just want to destroy it in ATS when we can't do that.

As cool as that would be, the main problem is that even though you said "it was designed by the team", the truck is in fact a parody of real trucks, an International 9300 for the conventional, and a mix of a International 9600 and Transtar 4070 for the cabover, BeamNG can get away with it because they don't have a single licensed vehicle, if SCS attempts to do that, they could get in big troubles with Navistar/International, sadly, it is very likely that SCS will never have the freedom of having fictional trucks for us to drive, and after what happened with Daimler back in the day, things like that are probably a solid no within the company.

But, with all that said, nothing stops someone from turning that truck into a mod and release it for ATS, i'm sure it will happen at some point, so, not all hope is lost, i would love to do it, but making a truck mod is a complicated process and requires a lot of time i don't have.

@Eggtooth That would be interesting... I wouldn't have anything against it personally, but I'm not sure how the community would feel with a fictional truck coming to the game.

Having said that though, with the doors to classics having finally been opened I do think it'd be more likely that we'll see its real life counterpart and basis, the International 9300.
That's for the conventional cab's exterior styling, at least - according to IGCD, the closest real life match to the cabover variant is the Freightliner FLA, which I think I do agree with.

We also don't know when SCS secured the deal with International to include the 9900i (an out-of-production truck when it released), but maybe the fact that it's an older one could imply that International are more willing to have them represent some of their older vehicles in the game? If that is the case, a 9300 may not be completely out of the question.

Though I'm not sure about Freightliner. Given the fact that their 1st gen Cascadia still hasn't seen a publicly release leads me to think they're not particularly keen on having SCS represent their older models, though firstly we don't know how much SCS has been chasing them to make it happen, and secondly even if it was true that they weren't too keen on it up until this point, their attitude towards the idea may soften after watching other brands' classic trucks coming to the game and the community absolutely eating them up...

Considering how much time and effort it took them to get the licenses from the manufacturers, I feel like at this point making fictional trucks would be a step backwards.
