They were firing on all cylinders to start the year but yeah the last two weeks have definitely been slower than usual.

I won't worry about it though, I know some great stuff is cooking in the kitchen for sure! :D

Blog Summary for March 23-29, 2026

There were 4 new blog posts this week.

Iceland and Illinois were the map DLCs that got dev posts this week. It's worth noting that this is the third week in a row for Illinois, which is something that usually happens when a release is close (usually within a few months).

SCS dropped what many considered to be a bombshell on Friday, announcing a pause of World of Trucks events in order to make them better.

Lastly, SCS also announced its 4th Fan Day Experience, which is going to take place on May 15. Applications will be open until April 10, at 11:59pm CEST (5:59pm EDT).

Monday (23rd): No blog post
Tuesday (24th): Illinois: Settlements #2
Wednesday (25th): Iceland: Keflavík
Thursday (26th): No blog post
Friday (27th): World of Trucks: Refuelling our Events
Saturday (28th): No blog post
Sunday (29th): SCS Fan Day Experience Vol. 4

Next weekly post: On or after Sunday, April 5.

As always, please let me know if I missed something!

Blog Summary for the Month of March, 2026

There were 16 total blog posts for March 2026, bringing 2026's yearly total to 58, not including this month's blogs.

March had the least amount of blogs so far this year, but barely--January had only one more (17).

Despite this, most map DLCs got at least one blog post--the lone one that didn't was British Columbia. Illinois got its gameplay preview, and we're now getting blog posts for it every week--which usually is a sign that a release is soon (within a month or two). We also got our first blog post for the 1.59 Update (and then our second this past Saturday, April 4).

Outside of DLC posts, we got a few more behind the scenes features. Finally, World of Trucks events will be taking a pause as SCS rethinks how these are done (which could mean potentally that there's not going to be a Cruising Illinois, or even a Cruising Iceland depending on how long the pause is).

Blog Summary for April 6-12, 2026

There were 5 new blog posts this week.

The biggest announcement this week was on Friday, where SCS teased an upcoming map DLC. The lone picture in the blog post showed...The 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, which could hint at a Türkiye/Anatolia DLC being announced soon! As ATS is taking its first steps into Canada with British Columbia, ETS2 looks to be setting foot into Asia. Personally, I wouldn't expect it before 2028, as map expansions this big usually take around two years to develop after it's announced (see: Iberia, Nordic Horizons).

We got another blog post about the Illinois DLC spotlighting the state's capital, Springfield. In addition, we got more news regarding the upcoming 1.59 update: in ETS2, all of the non-branded reefers will be branded with Thermo King.

This week closed out with a long-awaited update on the upcoming console releases for both ATS and ETS2, in the form of the second dev talk.

Monday (6th): No blog post
Tuesday (7th): No blog post
Wednesday (8th): Euro Truck Simulator 2 - 1.59 Update: Thermo King
Thursday (9th): Illinois: Springfield
Friday (10th): Bridge Between Communities
Saturday (11th): ATS Road Trip - Ford Car Pack: Mustang 67
Sunday (12th): SCS Software: Road to Consoles Dev Talk #2

Next weekly post: On or after Sunday, April 19.

Blog Summary for April 13-19, 2026

There were 6 new blog posts this week.

The Open Beta for 1.59 arrived for both games this week, and there are significant map changes in both of them. In ETS2, the much-anticipated Benelux Rework arrived. In ATS, Illinois is now greyed in, meaning that the Illinois DLC is only a few weeks away!

Not only that, ETS2 has a new DLC coming…TÜRKIYE 🇹🇷! The new DLC, called Soul of Anatolia, will add about a third or so more of Türkiye, bringing with it the Turkish capital (Ankara), and extending as far east as Aksaray. With how big the expansion is, a release probably won’t happen before 2028 in my opinion—especially since there are two other DLCs (Iceland and Isle of Ireland) before it.

An SCS on the Road and a blog post on Coaches (in particular, how it fits into the map expansions (both new and old) closed out the week. The Coaches blog post also highlighted some of the custom stations—many of which are already in the game.

Finally, ATS has been recognized as an official Route 66 Centennial Project! Quite the achievement on the eve of the Illinois DLC, and the historical route being (mostly) drivable in-game.

Monday (13th): No blog post
Tuesday (14th): American Truck Simulator: 1.59 Update Open Beta
Wednesday (15th): Introducing Soul of Anatolia
Thursday (16th): Euro Truck Simulator 2: 1.59 Update Open Beta
Friday (17th): American Truck Simulator Recognized as Official Route 66 Centennial Project
Saturday (18th): SCS On The Road: DAF XF Electric & DAF Eindhoven Facility
Sunday (19th): Coaches in Map Expansions

Next weekly post: On or after Sunday, April 26.

Blog Summary for April 27-May 3, 2026

There were 3 new blog posts this week.

It was a light news week, but a big one, and very ATS-focused.

The big annoucement, hands down, is that we finally have a release date for Illinois! The Illinois DLC will release in about one and a half weeks from now, on May 14, 2026. Other than that, there was a teaser for a new truck (The new Volvo VNL) and a Road Trip post about the Ford Bronco.

Monday (27th): No blog post
Tuesday (28th): New Truck Spotted in ATS!
Wednesday (29th): Illinois: Release Date + Video Trailer Reveal
Thursday (30th): No blog post
Friday (1st): No blog post
Saturday (2nd): No blog post
Sunday (3rd): ATS Road Trip - Ford Car Pack: Bronco Badlands

Next weekly post: On or after Sunday, May 10.

Blog Summary for the Month of April, 2026

There were 20 total blog posts for April 2026, bringing 2026's yearly total to 75 as of April 30.

April had the second-most blogs so far as we enter the second quarter of the year.

Most map DLCs got at least one blog in April, the exceptions being Iceland and British Columbia. There is also a newcomer on the European side in the Soul of Anatolia DLC, which will add more of Türkiye and signal ETS2's first steps into Asia.

The 1.59 open beta kicked off for both games in the middle of the month. In ATS, the Illinois DLC now has a release date: May 14, 2026! In ETS2, the 1.59 Update brings with it the Benelux rework (so long, original C-D...if you know, you know) and the Volvo Experience Center, which is located on a hidden road somewhere in Göteborg (Gothenburg). Tow-to-Road was added as a quality-of-life upgrade in both games, and there were further tweaks and additions to the new Route Advisor UI.
