No, it highlights an issue with mods - they haven't been updated to work with the latest version of the game. Making sure it's compatible lies solely on modders, not game devs. The game is fine.

I've been using ETS2 and ATS since release in 2013 and in that time I've never seen so many errors with mod compatibility. Even some of the 1.56 mods dont work or crash the game. SCS have always brought better versions out each time but this one is a baddie.

@Diddy64 You mean the mod makers have been bad at making updates this time. SCS is not responsible for mods in any way.

From my own experience I can tell that not all the crashes are noted in the game.log.
I had the same: fatal crash and going back to the desktop.
A mod causing the problem. And in the mod list there were no incompatible mods.

Correct, mods only show as incompatible if the mod maker sets them up to do so.

Mostly as there is a version number in the versions.sii file at the steamworkshop. Correct me please if I'm wrong.

Since there's currently a lot of discussion about mods, I just wanted to point out something I noticed regarding these errors:
00:00:22.670 : <ERROR> Missing file: /unit/hookup/vehicle/flare/New Directory/.sii
00:00:23.388 : <ERROR> [unit] File '<I:/Simulators Euro Truck_American_Farming/steamapps/workshop/content/227300/2939893769/universal | >/def/vehicle/addon_hookups/2023lp.sui', line 2:
00:00:23.388 : <ERROR> Included at '<I:/Simulators Euro Truck_American_Farming/steamapps/workshop/content/227300/2939893769/universal | >/def/vehicle/addon_hookup_storage.2023lp.sii', line 3:
00:00:23.388 : <ERROR> [unit] The unit name 'lahalog_1.addon_hookup' is already taken by an existing unit (of type 'accessory_hookup_data').
00:00:23.388 : <ERROR> Sii loader: Failed to load units from file (/def/vehicle/addon_hookup_storage.2023lp.sii)
00:00:25.469 : <ERROR> [unit] File '<I:/Simulators Euro Truck_American_Farming/steamapps/workshop/content/227300/2470832575/universal | >/unit/hookup/vehicle/flare/vehicle_p3_light.sii', line 3:
00:00:25.469 : <ERROR> [unit] The unit name 'flare.vehicle.intlight_bck.cyanp2' is already taken by an existing unit (of type 'flare_vehicle'). 00:00:25.469 : <ERROR> Sii loader: Failed to load units from file (/unit/hookup/vehicle/flare/vehicle_p3_light.sii)

If you look at it more closely, it keeps reporting errors on lines 2, 3, etc.
I've checked, and there are no errors to be found; the syntax looks perfectly fine, no incorrect characters or anything, but it still shows an error.

So, the question is: what's going on and why? I've been trying to explain this to you for a while now, but nobody ever seems to pay attention.
Therefore, I'm looking for someone who can modify the truck parts for me so they look like in the photo/image.

I will upload 10 pictures here today so you can see what it looks like.

Often an error like that is caused by the linkage to another file and the actual error is in that file, not the one reported.

The ones saying a unit name is already taken, means another mod has already defined that value. There's nothing wrong with the syntax, but you have mods that are not compatible with each other.

Today I installed the latest version of ETS 2 (1.56.XX) and, sure enough, the same problem reappeared. I had to disable 4 mods because they were causing issues. But now, everything seems to be working fine again, as if nothing had happened. It's really strange that these problems keep recurring.

Mods being incompatible with each other is not new and not related to the game version.

Multiple mods updating the same items will generally not be compatible.

There is nothing strange about this, it's always been this way.
