Sure, if you'd like to wait about 6-10 years for the next map DLC.
ATS got it's scale reworked and it took around 18 months to 2 years from memory and it was much smaller than ETS2 is.

And they can't release it in chunks, it needs to be published all at the same time. (The UK being the only exception and its currently 1:15 anyway.)

Pavel said they would have to do the UK in one big update, which highly suggests a rescale of it. Of course that was several years ago now and things change.

I wasn't disappointed with the rework of Germany, Switzerland, and even Austria, so I'm sure it will be good ;) But for me, the best English part is still at Promods. I hope SCS will be on par with Promods, or even better.
Ever since VLF SCS maps are miles ahead of what promods has to offer. In terms of quality of course. I couldn't care less about density if it's packed but looks meh. The only increase in quality in promods vs SCS you see where SCS hasn't been since 2015. Which includes UK.

My guess is that it might be the UK Rework:
*1:19 like the rest of the map. I know this is a bit of a divisive discussion, but I think for the UK to fit in with the rest of the map, 1:19 will make the most sense. I know it will limit SCS a bit, but they are much more than experts in this regard and know how to handle the 1:19 scale.
*The rework should come all at once, not in parts like it did with Germany. I think it will be better for map construction and more interesting to have the whole country at once, rather than just receiving parts.

fair enough,
I guess we’ll wait and see how this unfolds. Who knows when we’ll get a final announcement? Since this was just a teaser, I wonder if they’ve already started working on it and assembled a team, or if it’s still in the talking phase with no team in place yet.

I support if scale adapt to 1/19 but biggest problem you need to rebuild whole map in a single update. California reworked with couple of phases with no problem cause map using same scale. Important question how many year we need to wait.

As just written somewhere else, I expect a long haul. UK is much larger than Austria or Switzerland or the Benelux. While I hope not it will take as long as Germany rework, it could actually happen unless their teams have nothing better to do.

I don't see it taking that long. Pavel once said he wants to have at least 20 mappers on the UK, which is ~1.33 to 2 times more mappers than a typical ATS DLC, for a country that at 1:19 scale would be smaller in area than Kansas (for the regions already in ETS2), and there's a limit to how dense a DLC can be (although I'm guessing the UK rework will push that limit).

If we don't hear about the Nordic Horizons team moving on to a large project like Anatolia, then I think it'd be safe to assume that SCS assigned all those people to work the UK and Ireland. Iceland team has to be quite small so that leaves a lot of manpower up for grabs now that NH is being polished up. The entirety of the UK and Ireland is half the area of Iberia, more dense for sure but there's a limit to density.

Assuming the UK rework gets an official announcement somewhat soon, I'm pencilling it in for early to mid 2027, maybe as early as late 2026, and late 2027 at the latest.

I'm also thinking a late 2026/early 2027 release, but more info will have to be disclosed in the announcement for me to think more clearly about the timeframe of arrival.
