Windscreen Accessory points
Hi , hope someone can help. I would like to place a hookup to the windscreen of a truck that has no hookups. I've made a new model locator in blender, positioning it where I want it but i get lost once i export and pack it. Will i need a sii file and a def file placed somewhere. As you can tell, I'm new to this, does anyone have good links or suggestions please. I've have watched videos but they don't seem to include windscreens. What I am trying to achieve is to be able to put accessory items on the window. Any help would be great.

Hi
Maybe I can help a bit.
For a new hookups (I'm referring to a locator that's part of a cabin or chassis model, e.g., f_bumper, in the game as a white dot) that allows you to place an accessory model in its place in the game, you need to create definition files in the appropriate folders for the accessory model designated for the new hookups so that it appears in the game.
It's very helpful to see how the element you want to modify is configured in your models, e.g., SCS, and to see if and which definition files are associated with that model.
I also highly recommend reading >>SCS Software Modding Wiki
it's a great resource for beginners, providing a wealth of basic information (I know this from personal experience).
The situation is slightly different if you want to create a hookups (locator) that, after selecting, will display the appropriate pins/slots (red dots in the game) on which you can place add-ons (e.g., pennants).
However, to avoid confusing the answer, I'll wait with the rest of the tips.
If you need additional advice, please describe in more detail the intended purpose of this connection, its intended use, and what you've already done.
Best regards, Jaymzarf

Re: Windscreen Accessory points
Yes, you need a .sii (def) file.
Blender only sets the position; the game won’t detect the hookup without a proper accessory definition.
Use an existing windshield accessory mod as an example and copy its structure.

Hi Friend, if I understand correctly, you could modify these entries created by SCS (I attach a screenshot).
Opening the PMG file from Blender add a new locator.
I'll show you a route of a Scania cabin to help you better understand where to find the Def.
def/vehicle/truck/scania.s_2016/accessory/set_glass (here you will find the 4 accessory paths)

"/vehicle/truck/upgrade/interior_set/scania_2016/glass_set_4.dlc_toys.pmd"
Or if you don't need to create additional Moder Locators, move one of the existing Slots as you like.

Re: Windscreen Accessory points
To add a windscreen accessory, Blender only sets the position. You need a proper .sii (def) file for the game to recognize it. Use an existing windshield accessory mod as a template, place your locator in Blender, then reference it in the appropriate def folder so the game can detect and display it.
