Adding collisions to the model.

#1 Post by JigSaw » 25 Nov 2025 09:17

Hello there, :)

I'm a newbie, You might say, just starting out with Blender and learning a few things.

I'd like to ask: How do I add collision to a model/thing that doesn't have one :?:

I'm referring to these things:
-expansion jont 01 poc
-road_gratting_01
-road split 01 rus
-drain_01_blke
-drainage grid 01 curve shr
-road_split_01_de

I found and tried adding collision based on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWKBbbcYCEE, but unfortunately it doesn't work. Maybe the method in the video is no longer valid.

Here's what I ended up with when I tried to do it based on this video.

You need to add collision as actual geometry and assigned to the part "coll" in the SCS Part list and make sure that the part "coll" is selected in the SCS Variants list for most items like these.

For items that have multiple segments and have "start", "center", and "end" parts, you need to have the collision items tagged with "_c" in the Parts List to match with the items they are supplying collision to (ie Part "e_2x_rw" will have it's collision named "e_2x_rw_c")
Due to the 12-character limit imposed by SCS Software's engine, so you might see Parts that have "s_", "c_", and "e_" instead of full words for the "start", "center", and "end" Parts.

So am I to understand that this video is completely up-to-date regarding adding collisions, but in my case I have to add a collision to each part, i.e. to the beginning, middle and end of this thing :?:

Correct, each part needs a collision.
