Unable to connect ETS2 to World of Trucks Account despite getting option to connect game

#1 Post by ScallywagBeowulf » 19 Dec 2025 16:47

I have been trying to connect my ETS2 game from Steam to my WOT account now for about 20 minutes. As seen in the screenshot, it is greyed out, indicating it should be able to be added, and the second photo shows me connecting the game (theoretically) to WOT. However, it does not seem to be working and it still shows ETS2 as greyed out on my profile page despite the fact I just linked ETS2 from Steam.

Have any of y'all run into this issue or have any ideas on how to fix this?

What happens when you press the connect button in the first screenshot?

You do the linkage from the WOT page, not from steam. In steam you add your username and password so that you can connect to a game you've already linked.

It just takes me back to step one again. Basically, I hit the "connect via Steam" option in the "connected games" area on the WOT page. That takes me to Steam where I log in, then it takes me to the page on the first screenshot where it says to "connect selected games". I hit that, and then it takes me to the "connected games" page again showing that I had not connected ETS2 from Steam to my WOT account despite seemingly having connected ETS2 to my WOT account. I did reach out to the WOT Support Team with the same info and a video to see if they can help as well.

Is your steam account publicly visible? If you have it set to private, WOT can't see the game to connect to it.
You can reset it to private immediately afterwards.

Yeah, my Steam is publicly visible. I did also try doing this on a different browser but had the same issue, so I think it might be something on the WOT back end. I could be wrong.

I'm out of idea's. Note that the WOT support team may be slow in responding due to the Xmas break.

Yeah, no worries, I appreciate you reaching out to try and help brainstorm some fixes regardless. SCS Support actually got back to me and wanted me to verify my Steam account, and said they should be in touch with me again soon, so they might be able to help me out.
