Manual transmission clutch behaviour

The gear splitter no longer works when I release the accelerator. With my 1.57 save file, there are no problems.

Also make sure your pedals are releasing fully (check your inputs). I had that problem before with my clutch.

I don't have access to a real truck, but I have BeamNG which is the next closest thing. In first gear without a trailer, yup, no problem just dropping the clutch and then pressing the throttle. With a 50,000 lbs trailer on flat ground, it's another story though. The engine was really struggling without throttle, almost stalled.

In a low gear, sure, but we shouldn't be able to take off with a load in 10th gear! I just tested it. As long as you give it enough throttle, you can take off in a very high gear. The manual shifting is very dumbed down now.

Yeah fair enough I hadn't tried in higher gears, sounds again like they are using the same code between auto and manual.

In version 1.58, there is no point in using a manual gearbox anymore, as it now behaves like an automatic one. I made a few deliveries from the Special Transport Add-on, where the loads weigh 170,000 pounds (85 tonnes). The lorry now behaves as if it has no problem with these loads. It takes off like a wild boar after pine cones when you release the clutch. This update may have changed the physics, but is it for the better? So far, I don't have a very good feeling about it.

I feel the same way now. I think SCS should reverse the changes for manual transmissions. For automatics, they probably make sense.

I once had the opportunity to learn to drive a Fuller transmission in a Freightliner Columbia, and I can confirm that it's not natural for a truck to accelerate like that in a high gear.

The only thing left for us to do is make some noise so SCS notices and makes a change.

SCS need to revert or improve the throttle behaviour. Even in automatic mode, the transmission doesn't behave correctly to my pedal inputs. Seems to dump a load of power then coasts forever when I don't want it to.

Yes, I confirm that the behavior of the throttle, and even the brakes, is completely broken at the moment.

You can even put the truck on gear, step on the brakes, release the clutch and it won't stall

I feel like since 1.58, the clutch engagement feels super high, is that supposed to be the case? I see the RPMs dropping a little at around 50%, but no feeling in the truck. I only see any useful movement at like 80 or 90% off the clutch. At that point I just drop it and go and it feels kind of unsatisfying. Never driven a real truck so I don't know what it's supposed to feel like.
