[WIP] 1:10 Scale USA Map

SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check the Forum Rules.

If you want progress on your map you will have to learn how to do it yourself.

He is giving you very sound advise my friend. It's your project, your ambition but you want someone else to build your dream map. Mantrid is the C2C map maker. People joined him but they did so on their own terms. Your terms are more ambitious.

Good luck with that -- help isn't guaranteed. It's further complicated by the fact that you're working on something that will be quadruple the size of the vanilla map, which I must stress is an enormous undertaking.

I did the math in post #51 for US 1:10 scale, it's so enormous no one can comprehend the full scale of it.

With all due respect to the modder, I think only California (since thats where it is right now) in a 1:10 scale is a very impressive undertaking and something that will take a few years. If that goes well, expand to the next state and so on. Hoping you catch momentum on the way a long. And following Mantrid's advice would be a smart thing to do. If you want a mapmod, map it yourself as well. If you don't own the skill, how would you ever know 'the team' will use all possibities from the editor? Just to give an example.

That project is a dead duck.

From the beginning of this thread, my intuition and experience told me how this would end. I was betting on 3 months and then a pass.
Just carefully analyze the first post in this topic.

@trainguy_modding

I suggest locking the topic and sparing yourself from critical and unpleasant comments.

I suspect you're right to be honest.

A real shame but definitely too much for just one or two people to do thats for sure.

Mantrid said it best. It can't be stressed any heavier. If people are to help, they have to see the originator take action on his own project. 75% of a map mod is mapping it. Asking people to do the map for you without getting paid with this type of ambition won't go far. I understand the OP is determined, but he isn't determined enough to do as Mantrid stated. I'd love to add a expansions map mods to ATS to get rid of soo many XXX barriers. But I'm not willing to learn the map editor so I just sit and accept what SCS provides. If I don't want to map but have a vision, it will just remain a wishful thinking because I'm not willing to do something about it.
