The in-game traffic is good. But, there's always room for improvement. From realistic rush hours within reason. We can't have the frame rates plummet by imitating traffic 1:1. But, more common sense can help. Not just by default, but, so modders can make traffic behave better, if we have the tools to tweak it.
The road less traveled is often the most unique one you encounter.

It seriously needs to have more traffic spawn, especially cars in urban and high density areas, because since the 1.57, there is a downgrade and even with mods, it is no longer possible to have a decent amount of traffic ...

@taurus31 I thought something was messed up.. cuz I increased the traffic for my traffic mod but saw no changes. At least I'm not the only one who noticed.

Indeed, both ETS and ATS games have this issue. It seems Scs decreased the amount of "car type" spawning and should be harcoded since increasing the traffic in a dedicated mod does almost nothing now.

Im running my private mod for traffic for both games. I noticed that for better car results I would recommend setting g_traffic to 2 in ets2. In ats I didn't noticed any change when increasing traffic with command while using traffic mod. But also when doing this in ets2 I would recommend slightly reducing the truck spawn ratio since it would also slightly bump the heavy traffic results.

I was wondering what was causing a traffic jam ... and then I saw this thing:

Traffic mods still work on g_traffic 2?? I've been recommended only use traffic mods with g_traffic 1. Should I try g-traffic 2 and see what happens?

Only in ets2 works from my experience. You could try running on g_traffic 2 and see the results. After driving on value 2 I needed to slightly lower trucks spawning in mod, and leave the cars ratio to make it more like in real life when you have majority of traffic as cars and rest of them as trucks, buses

Seems to be a bit better on g_traffic 2 but still need significant improvement.

Agree. As said above since last year traffic got broken. And nothing will get you to previous results. Although using g traffic command can improve results in good way.
I hope this mean that internally they are working on some better traffic. Some things which was broken for few versions were fixed when some new stuff related or partially related were released.
