Everything was going fine until I stopped playing for a month; now, the game won't launch. I hit "Play," the game window opens—displaying a black screen—and then closes just one second later. I've tried every possible troubleshooting method found across the internet—videos, forums, and every other source—so my only remaining option is to ask here and see if I get lucky.
Here is a list of the things I've already tried that didn't work:
- Verifying game files
- Reinstalling the game
- Deleting the configuration file located in "My Documents"
- Performing a clean reinstall of my graphics drivers
- Editing the `config.cfg` file to launch the game in windowed mode and changing the resolution to 1080p
- Configuring the game settings via NVIDIA Experience
- Attempting to launch the game using every available option, including Safe Mode
- Disconnecting all monitors and testing them one by one to see if the game would launch
- Closing any programs that utilize overlays (such as Steam, NVIDIA Overlay, and MSI Afterburner)
- Disabling Steam Controller Support
My PC Specs:
- AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
- 32GB DDR5 RAM @ 6200MHz (2x 16GB sticks)
- ASUS ROG Strix X870-A Motherboard
- RTX 5070 Ti Graphics Card
- 3 Monitors:
1 (Main Monitor): Samsung Odyssey G9 Ultrawide
2: Samsung IPS 32" 2K
3: ASUS ROG OLED 27" 2K (oriented vertically)

Try setting this to 0 in your config file:
00:00:02.161 : uset g_color_feedback "1"
Also try moving your files off OneDrive, these games can be allergic to OneDrive even after working for months without issue.
00:00:00.890 : [ufs] Home directory: 'C:/Users/OnlyC/OneDrive/Documents/American Truck Simulator'.
00:00:02.161 : uset g_color_feedback "1"

Re: ATS and ETS2 insta close after 1 second black screen
I don't have OneDrive installed, but I moved the location of my Documents folder from (C:\Users\OnlyC\OneDrive\Documents) to (C:\Users\OnlyC\Documents). I then restarted my computer and tested it, but it still won't open.
I also tried changing the value of `uset g_color_feedback` from 1 to 0; I saved the change and tested it, but again nothing. I'm not sure if it's relevant, but every time I tried to launch the game, the value revert from 0 back to 1.

If it's changing back to 1, you've either changed it while the game was running. Or something is preventing the file from being updated. Probably syncing with OneDrive, which your log shows is active.
Provide a new game log so we can look again.

Re: ATS and ETS2 insta close after 1 second black screen
its done, After changing the path for my Documents folder and restarting, I noticed that it reverted back to OneDrive. So, I changed the path directly via Regedit, restarted, and then changed the setting (specifically `g_color_feedback`) back to 0. Now the game launches and appears to be working fine after three hours of gameplay. Thank you so much for solving a problem I had been trying to fix for weeks!
