Game crashes unless g_color_feedback is set to 0

#1 Post by Tomelys » 03 Apr 2026 23:13

Hi everyone,
I’ve been having an issue with ats. The game refuses to launch unless I set g_color_feedback to 0 in the config.cfg file. If it’s set to 1 (the default), the game crashes immediately on startup. The problem is that when I set g_color_feedback to 0, the game works, but it always resets my graphics settings. This wouldn't be a problem for most, but for me it is because I use custom scaling (I set in config.cfg ).
Has anyone experienced this before? I would be very grateful if someone could help me fix the game.

G_color_feedback shouldn't reset your graphic settings as it's the master switch relating to interaction with RGB keyboards. There are 2 sub settings that control the finer inputs.

Try setting these two to 0 and leave color feedback at 1.

uset cf_asus_aura "0"
uset cf_razer_chroma "0"

The graphics resetting could be an independent issue, unrelated to color feedback, because as you say the game crashes so you can't see if the graphics are being reset with that value on.

Hi, I did what you suggested, but the game is behaving the same way. It launches, but the graphics settings reset every time. Of course, I can simply set them every time I turn on the game, it's an easy task. The problem is that I used to have my custom uset r_scale_y and uset r_scale_x values. I would set them to 1.6 so the scaling would be about 250% (perfect for my pc). Now I've lost that ability and can't play anymore at that sweet spot for me. Do you have any clues why the graphics settings could reset every time? Thanks in advance.

One cause is if you set your screen size to something your monitor doesn't support (which those scale values may do).
Can you try changing other graphics settings, but leave those alone and see if your settings reset?

Hi, I tried the things you mentioned, but they didn't slove the issue. However I think I found another imporatant clue. So I noticed that with the settings of g_color_feedback set to 0 and also uset r_scale_y and x set to 1.6 ets2 now works perfectly and keeps my settings. But ats situation is completely different. When I launch ats, it instantly goes straight to the main menu of the game and there is no loading screen (like the scs logo and ats logo). And when I launch ets2, this loading screen is here. Could it be that because there is no loading screen, maybe some other elements like the graphics settings are also not loading. The first time that I got no loading screen in ats was when I set the g_color_feedback to 0, and since then it never shows up. What do you think? Thanks in advance.

The lack of loading screens is probably because you added the launch parameter -nointro to your game.

To check, in Steam right click on the game, and select 'Properties'
Click on 'Set Launch Options' and see what's there.

HI, the game works now. It turns out that when I was trying to fix the game, in the launch options I wrote: -safe -windowed -nointro, and the forgot about it. Now I removed that, and the game works like it used to. Thanks for your help.
