Re: SCS General Nonsense Thread
I hate it when people spoiler future content or data mined stuff.
Like it’s out there in real life, there’s nothing to spoil.
IMHO.

Re: SCS General Nonsense Thread
I don't mind text being tagged at all. This isn't the sort of game where that stuff really bothers me, but I'm used enough to other media where it matters more that I don't mind practicing basic decency if there are people around who want it. Though how thorough I am with them varies dramatically based on the media, audience, and context.
The spoiler tag here is not at all suited for images or videos, however. Please just link to them at that point.
One other thing that I've occasionally seen spoiler tags used for is enforcing comedic timing - basically, hiding the punch line of a joke behind the tag so it doesn't get ruined by skimming ahead. For example, if this paragraph had just been a contrived anecdote leading to me saying or whatever. This is a perfectly acceptable use, but it's not well suited to this board because the language and culture barriers mean pretty much any attempt at humor here will be taken as serious arguments by someone.

Re: Usage of SPOILER bbCode
I have moved this into a separate topic, so it is easier for everyone to follow the discussion.
Also, in the 5 days since my previous reply, I have not received any report through the Report this post feature about spoiler tag overuse. Because of that, at this point I do not feel this is a major issue, and the forum team is certainly not planning to introduce any formal restrictions in this area.
That said, if any of you notice clear overuse of spoiler tags in a way that goes against their purpose and makes reading less comfortable for others, please do keep reporting it. If needed, we will try to handle it in a friendly way and gently remind users to use this feature with a bit of balance, so the forum stays comfortable for everyone.
Of course, I am not closing the discussion here, so please feel free to keep sharing your thoughts as well.

Re: Usage of SPOILER bbCode
I suppose it's more of an annoying inconvenience, due to how spoilers work with pictures - where in most conversations they're not needed.

Re: Usage of SPOILER bbCode
I only use them in two cases…
The first (and most recent) was with Soul of Anatolia, and in particular the Bridge Between Communities blogpost, so basically when teasers before a DLC is announced. When I posted my weekly blog review, I spoilered what the picture was, since the DLC hadn’t been announced officially (though it was the following week).
The second time is usually a few weeks after a map DLC releases. I’m one of the people who likes to discover things on the map on his own, and so I offer the same courtesy for others.
