Intense microstuttering since 1.59

#1 Post by IntoxicatedCookie » 15 May 2026 00:43

Hi, I've been noticing extreme microstuttering since the latest update to a point where I simply cannot play the game to an enjoyable extend. This used to be an issue for me as well before, but it somehow got fixed over the years. Maybe it's only in specific areas? I haven't driven in a lot of places since 1.59 so I can't tell with certainty. It was more or less fine in Antwerp, but now I'm near Rotterdam and it's not enjoyable anymore. The trip went from Düsseldorf to Rotterdam and all along this issue seemed to happen. I have attached my game log which seems to be filled with errors, I am NOT using any mods except for a voice navigation mod which was also disabled during this game session. I have a 5060 Ti and an i5-9600KF. It used to be fine before 1.59 with the same specs and settings.

Log didn't seem to upload correctly yesterday, I keep getting an HTTP error. The file size might be too big, so I truncated a big part of the log but the following errors are similar to the ones you see.

You need to verify your game in Steam and also check that all your DLC's are activated because I can see a lot of towns/garages missing. To verify: right click on your game in Steam library and select properties. On the third row you'll see "installed files", click that and you will see "verify integrity of game files". Click that and let it run its course ;)

Hope this helps

First of all, thanks for your reply. I've done as you said, new log seems cleaner but still getting those frustrating stutters unfortunately... It seems to happen more on undiscovered road? New log is attached.

Some things that can reduce/remove stuttering.

Try these settings in the config file for a 60hz monitor:

uset t_averaging_window_duration "120"
uset t_averaging_window_length "100"

More information here - viewtopic.php?p=1973397#p1973397

Disabling FPS limit in game can remove stuttering.

Disabling HAGS (hardware acceleration) in windows can remove stutters
Disabling all game overlays can help[ (Discord/RivaTuner/Steam etc)

Setting owned trailers to private can remove stuttering due to a known bug.

Setting uset r_buffer_page_size to '10'

In version 1.59, I experience noticeable stuttering when looking at trees, streetlights, and road signs while driving. In urban areas, both frame drops and stuttering occur simultaneously. I'd like to know if my problem is the same as yours.

Without a game log nobody knows if it's the same reason.

Tried both this and also verified my game files. Still no luck.

Bump - this was solved by simply migrating the game files onto an SSD in favour of an HDD.
