[REL] SCS Trailer Wheel Replacement [1.0]

Hello!

It's finally a ETS2 version of the mod I recently dropped for ATS.
(viewtopic.php?t=350783)

But with another wheel, of course. This time this is - abasstreppas X-mas event trailer wheels
(viewtopic.php?t=326016)

The rest of the post is copied from the ATS one since mostly nothing else's changed, literally..


So, what's this mod about: it replaces SCS default trailer wheel model with Smarty's custom wheel.
That's all, extremely simple, but - I do really like how it looks and the fact the trailers are way more stylish.

The steel wheel is replaced for all company trailers.
You roam with your owned custom trailer(s)?
Not a big deal, you still might be interested - 'cause after installing this mod most of the traffic trailer wheels are also replaced by the new model.

abasstreppas X-mas event trailer wheels is mandatory! This addon is dependent on its wheel model instance, it just rewrites it as a replacement.
(that's why I shouldn't be needing abasstreppas' permission, I guess. Correct me if I'm wrong though...)

Game version: any; (tested on 1.58-1.59 but should work with both older and newer versions)
Don't get worried that mod's from 2023 - it's working fine like it's brand new, no errors/warnings or any other troubles I met.

Mod manager load order: any;

Other mods compatibility: should work with all of the other mods you could imagine.
Also it will affect (at least I expect so) every trailer mod which uses SCS basic single-piece wheel, both company and traffic versions, no matter which load order you use.

Known bugs:
1) "pop-up" effect in distant traffic, but gets fixed when applied "g_lod_factor_traffic" and "g_lod_factor_parked" to 2.0 or higher via config.cfg or through ingame console.

P.S. I'm not sure I picked a correct forum section, since this mod partially affects various spheres of the game such as trailers, traffic, trailer parts... so I picked "Others"

looking good but you need to login to google drive when you click on the download link. but second of all it's looking good i was searching for a long time for some wheel replacements for trailers and trucks since i think the scs ones look outdated with the 2d textures so great work. is it possible to add a download link from sharemods.com maybe that works better?

Thanks for your feedback. I had no idea google might be of problem, but now I added an additional download link to mods.to - I liked that website recently when getting some stuff from there, less ads and easier download rather than sharemods for me.

All the same as I mentioned for such mod for ATS (the link's in the main post if needed):

Yes, I'm quite careful about game performance lately, and that's why I chose Smarty's wheel.
It's single-piece model without overloads of polygons and 4k textures and stuff. Which means it's about the same quality level as SCS one. Which means it does not affect your game performance such as FPS\stuttering.

And yes, I crossed the map for 3200 km yesterday and didn't see any performance diferences at all. I'm running modern gaming machine at max settigs in 100+ FPS though.
Thus I have no idea how it behaves on low-power PCs. But, as I mentioned before, it shouldn't differ from SCS base performance anyway.
If someone with underpowered PC can confirm - or, say the opposite, - it's surely welcome.

Thanks, I get it. 100+ is useless to me in this game, 60 is stable and quite sufficient.

Interesting.. I'm unable to go to the beta myself currently though, but if anyone could share their game.log after such exact crash, it should help me understanding what's going on.

Tested it on 1.60 stable right now.

No crashes, seems working fine.
This could be some beta-related issues or other mods maybe.. Anyways now it's okay and this is the only thing that matters

I decided to try TruckyMods as a modder now, and this mod is the first one I uploaded there. The link's in the first post.
I hope downloading from there is a nice option for you truckers too.

I'm currently planning to release my future mods (and the ones that I might update) there if everything goes fine (time will tell), but surely everything will be posted here on SCS Forum too
