[REL] [WIP] Easy SCSModManager (ESCSMM)
Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check the Forum Rules.

The latest version takes mods from the Workshop; you need to specify the destination folder there. The rest will come later, family matters.

Glad to hear the Workshop works now! And no rush at all with the translation - family always comes first. It will be very welcome whenever you find the time.16tonn wrote: 04 Jun 2026 14:37 The latest version takes mods from the Workshop; you need to specify the destination folder there. Nothing works... the program freezes immediately and crashes after half an hour. How many mods are possible to handle, 10?

Re: Easy SCSModManager (ESCSMM)
Honest answer: the app is developed and tested with mod libraries in the hundreds - your ~7000 mods are the biggest collection we have heard of so far, and they are clearly hitting limits we have not optimized for yet. That is a real issue on our side, not a "you have too many mods" situation. But I need your help to fix it.rs_varel wrote: 04 Jun 2026 19:55 Nothing works... the program freezes immediately and crashes after half an hour. How many mods are possible to handle, 10?
Since v1.1.2 the app writes a log file - even when the window freezes, the file is being written. Paste this into the Explorer address bar:
Code: Select all
%LOCALAPPDATA%\easy-scsmodmanager\logs
Also helpful: which version you are on (1.1.2 or 1.1.3) and roughly how much RAM the machine has.
One thing to set expectations: the very first scan has to open all 7000 mod containers once to build the cache - that legitimately takes a long while, and the UI currently does not show progress well at that scale. That part will get better too.

@16tonn v1.2.0 is out with much smarter Windows path detection (it now asks the registry instead of guessing). If you have a minute: clear your manual Workshop path in Settings and restart - I would love to know if auto-detect finds your library now. And the Russian translation stays welcome whenever life allows, zero rush.

I'm asking for a friend: for how many people does it actually work?

I'm already on the 1.3.0 with own theme!
I think later tonight or tomorrow that problem is solved!

Re: Easy SCSModManager (ESCSMM)
Fair question, so here is a straight answer: for the people who have reported back so far, it works - Workshop detection, load order, profile saving. One theme issue on Windows light mode was reported today and is already fixed for the next release. What makes your setup behave differently is exactly what I am trying to find out - and that part is in your hands, not mine.rs_varel wrote: 05 Jun 2026 15:50 I'm asking for a friend: for how many people does it actually work?
I can fix what I can see. Two minutes of your time:
Code: Select all
%LOCALAPPDATA%\easy-scsmodmanager\logs
With that, I will treat your 7000 mods as the stress test this app needs, and you will most likely be the reason the next version handles huge libraries. Without it, there is honestly nothing I can do for you - I can only help someone who gives me something to work with.
