We've all been there. Your buddy hops on, his truck looks great, the map's loaded with stuff yours doesn't have, and you ask "what mods are you running?" — then ten minutes later you're still copying names one by one and getting half of them wrong.
So I made a little web tool that just does it for you. You give it your profile and your friend's mod list, and it drops his exact list of active mods into your profile. That's it. No editing files by hand, nothing to install.
What it actually does
- Copies the list of active mods from one profile into another.
- Lets you share your own mod list with a short code or link, so a friend can pull yours in too.
- Leaves your save alone — your truck, company, money, jobs and stats stay exactly as they were. It only touches which mods are switched on.
- It's free, runs in your browser, and your file never gets uploaded anywhere.

How to use it
To copy a friend's mods into your profile:
- Open the link above.
- Load your own profile file (more on where to find it below).
- Add your friend's mods — either by pasting the short code he sent you, or by loading his profile file.
- Check the before/after preview, then hit download.
- Put the downloaded file back into your profile folder (steps below).
- Open the link and load your profile.
- It gives you a short code and a link.
- Send that to your friend — he pastes it in on his end and your mods drop into his profile.
The tool needs your profile.sii file. Here's where it lives. Most people will find it in the first spot — if it's not there, Steam Cloud is probably saving it in the second spot instead.
Normal location:
Code: Select all
Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\profiles\Code: Select all
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<your number>\227300\remote\profiles\Once you're in the profiles folder, you'll see a folder with a long, weird-looking name made of letters and numbers. That's your profile. If you only have one profile, there's only one folder — open it. Inside you'll find profile.sii.
Before you swap the file — back it up!
- Copy your existing profile.sii somewhere safe first (just paste a copy on your desktop). If anything goes sideways, you can put it right back.
- Drop the file you downloaded from the tool into that same profile folder, replacing the old one.
- Start the game and you're good.
- You still need to actually have the mods installed/subscribed in-game — the tool copies the list of mods, not the mods themselves. So grab them from the Workshop the same as always.
- Always back up your profile first. Takes five seconds and saves headaches.
- Your save is safe — only the mod list changes, nothing else.
Big thanks to @Sebik48 for helping me build and test this thing — couldn't have done it without you.
Give it a go and let me know how it works for you. If something breaks or acts weird, drop a reply and I'll take a look. Happy trucking!
