Arc B580 performance

#1 Post by Hetisen » 03 Jul 2026 01:25

Hello everyone I recently swapped my GTX 1650 for an ARC B580. Much more powerful, but a bit unstable in ETS2. Anyone with this card who can share their experience using it?

I just can’t get a smooth experience with this card in ETS2. Those little slowdowns keep haunting me even with the game capped at 60 FPS. Keeping this GPU is going to be an adventure. Wish me luck.

I know it'll be a silly question but - did you run DDU before installing the ARC GPU?

Also, if you are on Windows 11 it has a horrible habit of installing its own display drivers over the correct ones; you have to manually disable this 'feature' in Windows. I only learnt about this like a month ago and it unlocked a lot more performance in my GPU. Worth checking.
Has anyone ever been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

I'm on Windows 10, which does the same thing as Windows 11. I changed the settings in "gpedit.msc" so it doesn't automatically download drivers. Someone told me to try disabling SSAO. That's the next thing I'll try to see if it stops the game micro stuttering. I'm thinking of migrating to Windows 11, but the price of NVMe SSDs is too high. I'll stick with the SATA SSD without any new installations, hoping it will last longer.

I ran a test and compared the game's performance running in DX11 and DX12. In DX11, the average FPS is 10-15 FPS higher, it uses 1GB less VRAM, and the frame time line is more choppy. The 1% low is better in DX12, but it didn't completely eliminate stuttering. I believe that because my video card is particularly bad in DX11, it ended up being worthwhile to use DX12 even though it's not officially ready for use. I also tested Vulkan, and it was similar to DX12. The video card is a B580; I believe that for AMD and Nvidia there isn't a noticeable improvement like there is for Intel. I tested version 1.60.
