How old are you?

#1 Post by ohaha » 25 Nov 2013 22:59

This is not an official SCS poll!!!

This is just a small curiosity of mine. I am trying to figure out the age range of the forum (and game?) users.
You don't have to reply... guess there's nothing much to comment about one's age... except for birthday occasions :D
Just pick one.

Thanks.

PS. Girls, no one will ever know it's you, so you can choose the real value! ;)

Why are you so specific in the lower ages?

Why not...

< 10
10 - 20
20 - 30
30 - 40
40 - 50
50 - 60
60 - 70
70 - 80
80 - 90
90>

?

But i doubt anyone below 8 is actually on these forums. If someone where to vote for that we know he's just trolling.

Aha... because there's a difference...
8-12 is the first interval, IMO, when kids discover games and are actually capable of understanding them (depends on the game, of course), but not all are interested in forums
then, 12-15 is the age when kids discover the opposite gender, and that, sometimes, affects their interests in gaming
above 15 to 18, is the troubled age... we've all been there... no need to go into details :D also, this is when forum activity starts to make sense... mentality is changing, also the need for intellectual challenges and social bonding
then, 18-22 is the age when some go to higher education, others just get a job... this also affects their availability to play games...
above this, the vast majority is employed or involved in a revenue generating activity and the only thing that matters is the age... above 30 the middle age crisis starts showing its fangs etc.

This is strange, I had exactly the same thoughts yesterday abut making a post like this, but without a poll though. I was also curious about the age-structure here ;)

But please, don't make a gender poll though, it will probably get me depressed

I'm missing Amy...

That's generally generalization. ;)
An 8 year old can behave like a 15 year old and an 18 year old can act like a 7 year old.

I can act like any age, it's a good thing though. You really don't want to lock yourself into a certain age group mentality. When you do you may as well sit in a window and drink coffee (or other beverages) and bide your time until you die of old age.

I discovered games when I was 3 years old, understood them when I was way younger than 8 :p Although I don't think I'd have liked ETS so young  anywayssss...I'm 28 :P

@cadde sounds good to me, give me an endless supply of whiskey, and good rock music, and I'd be more than happy to :D
