i think the game itself is the problem, not the server on how many people you can have or else SCS would already have increased it when dedicated servers are used

If the limitation is on the server and not the game then it's possible they just don't want to change two things at once; let dedicated servers get tested by the public and then later raise the player limit. If the limitation is with the game, well then they've got even more work to do for Pavel's MMO mode.

why would they? they just released the software and are at the beginning of it, it would be totally nonsensical to have any kind of partnership with a beta software

About the increase in the number of players, I believe it is a problem with the game itself dealing with more players. I remember Pavel saying in an interview for Vortex that they tried more players, but 7 was the one that proved to be stable and that it would take engine updates to have more players on a server without compromising performance.

Hi everyone,
can it be that the DLC-name was corrected to Feldbinder now? Unfortunately, my savegame does not load anymore because it requires the DLC Felbinder. Any idea how I can fix this?

EDIT: Solution by @bimmer050 : Load older savegame (before release of Feldbinder DLC) allows normal start of the profile. Then load the newest savegame again and the "missing DLC"-error is gone.

If VTC will every make it to fruition, dedicated servers is a good thing.
My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

But also SCS said time ago they don't want to allow more crowded sessions until the game doesn't have moderation and control tools that allow an efficient management of more than 8 players at the same time. In most cases, more than 8 people is something beyond the close IRL friends circle so it's good they don't want a host of such a session to have to deal problems with crude or inexistent tools. In the blog post they have mentioned again their intention to add those tools. That gives time them also to polish performance issues that could happen on scenarios with more than 8 players.
